Biography The lyric Soprano Joo-Anne Bitter is currently singing Rosalinde in Strauss` “Die Fledermaus” at the Hamburger Kammeroper, where she started in season 09/10 with roles like Donna Anna in Mozart’s “Don Giovanni”, Pamina in Mozart’s “The magic flute”, Agathe in Weber’s “Der Freischütz” and Walther in Catalani’s “La Wally”. Furthermore she was engaged as Leïla (cover) in Bizet’s “Les Pêcheurs de Perles” at the Opera Festival Mauritius 2009, a co-production with the Cape Town Philharmonic Orchestra and the Bavarian State Opera. She gained her first experiences as Frasquita in Bizets „Carmen“ in Sevilla (Spain) and as Gretel/Sandmännchen in Humperdincks „Hänsel und Gretel“, amongst others. In November 2008 Joo-Anne Bitter was final participant of the International Singing Competition Antonin Dvorak in Karlovy Vary (Czech Republic) and also in January 2007 at the International Singing Competition Kammeroper Schloß Rheinsberg.That followed many more concerts on international stages like in Germany, Austria, Italy, Czech Republic, Norway and Mexico, amongst others with the Karlovy Vary Symphonie Orchestra and the AGV Munich Orchestra. Her repertoire includes besides opera also oratorio and Lied. She attended the Master Classes of KS Gundula Janowitz, Antonietta Stella (Italy) and Nils Muus (Denmark). Since 2005 she studies with Tenor Antonio Carangelo (Italy). Joo-Anne Bitter graduated with master’s degree in Musicology, Journalism and New German Literature in Munich.

In der Spielzeit 10/11 ist Joo-Anne Bitter u.a. als Rosalinde in Strauss` Die Fledermaus an der Hamburger Kammeroper zu sehen, wo sie bereits als Agathe in Webers Der Freischütz und in der Rolle der Donna Anna in Mozarts Don Giovanni auftrat. Dort war sie außerdem 08/09 als Pamina in Mozarts Die Zauberflöte und Walther in Catalanis La Wally engagiert. Bei den Opernfestspielen Mauritius im September 2009 war Joo-Anne Bitter außerdem als Cover für Leila in Bizets Les Pêcheurs de Perles engagiert, eine Zusammenarbeit mit dem Cape Town Philharmonic Orchestra und der Bayerischen Staatsoper. Erste Erfahrungen sammelte sie in freien Produktionen u.a. als Frasquita in Bizet’s Carmen in Sevilla (E) und als Gretel/Sandmännchen in Humperdinck’s Hänsel und Gretel. Im November 2008 war Joo-Anne Bitter Finalteilnehmerin beim Internationalen Gesangswettbewerb Antonin Dvorak in Karlsbad (CZ) sowie im Januar 2007 beim Internationalen Gesangswettbewerb Kammeroper Schloß Rheinsberg.
